Mr Poh started investing in small businesses upon graduation, building and then selling his investments with the ultimate goal of compounding his gains.

After his education in the field of engineering, Mr Poh started his career in the family business, Poh Tiong Choon Logistics (PTC), in 1986 as an Executive taking care of repairs and maintenance of PTC’s fleet of vehicles. He rose through the ranks to eventually become Deputy CEO of the Group in 1996, assisting his father Mr Poh Choon Ann who still remains as Chairman and CEO.

Over the years, PTC expanded to become one of the biggest logistics companies in Singapore with one of the largest fleet of cargo trucks and a world-class chemical logistics warehouse on Jurong Island.  During his time at PTC, Mr Poh contributed to the company winning the Enterprise 50 Award twice, first in 1997 and again a year later in 1998.  He was also key to the Group’s successful listing on the Main Board of Singapore Stock Exchange in 1999. Mr Poh has since sold his shares to his father’s holding company and stepped down from his last held position of Deputy CEO in 2010 to focus on his own fast-growing businesses.  He remains a non-Executive Director of PTC.

Mr Poh’s experience in both operational and management functions at PTC provided him a well-rounded education in corporate governance and implementing sound management policies, and he developed a knack for identifying business opportunities that have the potential for exponential returns.
